1. Dilated - (of a part of the body) larger, wider or more open than usual (расширенный)
Examples: The patient’s pupils were dilated.
2. CPR - breathing air into the mouth of an unconscious person and pressing on their chest to keep them alive by sending air around their body (the abbreviation for ‘cardiopulmonary resuscitation’) (искусственное дыхание)
Examples: Doctors discuss with patients the possibility of cardiopulmonary arrest, describe CPR procedures and ask the patient about treatment preferences.
3. Mining dredges – a placer mining machine that extracts minerals from sand, gravel, and dirt using water and mechanical methods. (горнодобывающие драги)
Examples: The ore is mined with a custom-designed suction mining dredges equipped with a cutterhead.
4. Tetanus shot – vaccine for a disease in which the muscles, especially the jaw muscles, become stiff, caused by bacteria entering the body through cuts or wounds (прививка от столбняка)
Examples: If you get bit by a rabid dog, you'll need a tetanus shot.
5. Take up with - to begin to be friendly with somebody, especially somebody with a bad reputation (завязывать дружбу)
Examples: He was a great student until he took up with a group of troublemakers and ended up getting expelled.
I never saw you take up with another woman.
take something up with somebody - to speak or write to somebody about something that they may be able to deal with or help you with

6. Hillbilly - an offensive word for a person who lives in the country and is thought to be stupid by people who live in towns. (деревенщина)
The word was originally used to describe people living in Appalachia.
Examples: He's the one who keeps his key in the visor like a carefree hillbilly.
7. Macaroni and cheese - North American English, (informal: mac and cheese, mac n cheese) a hot dish of macaroni in a cheese sauce
8. E.T. – extraterrestrial, a creature that comes from another planet (инопланетный)
9. Withhold something (from somebody/something) - to refuse to give something to somebody (удерживать)
Examples: Employers generally must withhold federal income tax from employees' wages.
10. Rotten - (of food, wood, etc.) that has decayed and cannot be eaten or used (гнилой, тухлый)
Examples: They bring rotten rice from the mainland and dirty water.
This apple is rotten you can’t eat it.
11. Post-mortem – (also post-mortem examination) a medical examination of the body of a dead person in order to find out how they died (посмертный, вскрытие, аутопсия)
Examples: They’re doing a post-mortem on her today.
12. Caribous - a North American reindeer (северный олень)

1. Mrs. Robinson. В серии один из героев обращается к главной героине Миссис Робинсон. Это термин, используемый для описания пожилой женщины, преследующей кого-то моложе себя. Имя стало нарицательным после фильма 1967 года "Выпускник".
