On June 19, 1986, began the development of a new aircraft, codenamed T-10B (Su-27IB “fighter-bomber”).
The design of the successful Su-27 fighter was taken as a basis.
And 35 years ago took place the first flight of the T-10B-1, the prototype of the Su-34.
The first flight of a production Su-34 built under a government order for the Russian Air Force took place on October 12, 2006 from the V.P. Chkalov NAPO airfield.
On March 20, 2014, the Su-34 was taken into service with the Russian Air Force.
In 2008, during Georgia's invasion in Ossetia, SU-34 was used for the first time. And since then, this “Combat Herring” has been plaguing enemy troops in all the armed conflicts of the Russian Federation.
