A new advanced fighter of the sixth (5?, 7?, 25?) generation Chengdu J-36 has been spotted in China.

The tailless configuration is a bold design choice. By eliminating vertical stabilizers, the combat aircraft uses advanced fly-by-wire computer systems for control. Such a solution increases its stealth by significantly reducing the radar field. This design also reduces drag, potentially allowing the aircraft to fly long-range missions.
The unconventional placement of the fighter's air intakes - on top of the fuselage and on the sides - indicates a non-standard three-engine configuration. More engines will give it more thrust and maneuverability.
