Help with important decisions

Statement: one must discuss all important decisions in the family circle.

Do you always discuss important decisions you make in your family circle? Do you think people must tell their plans to relatives before implementing them? Or should they rule their life by themselves only?

In my opinion, people should make decisions without their parents' help if their plans don't affect on them. Each person should completely separate from his mom and dad and all family members he lives with. Usually teenagers start trying to do everything by themselves - this process, separation, is one of the main teenage aims. Also, independent decisions make a person's self-esteem increase. He thinks "Wow, my decision was a great one!", and these thoughts make him feel proud of himself.

From another angle, people often want to feel support when it comes to difficult life periods which cause stress. Decisions, especially big, make them worry, so hearing opinion of others could be a good idea. Each one has his own point of view and his own relation to a problem, and together people can find a good way to solve it.

But still, I think one should try to make decisions on his own, doesn't matter if there's a teenager or an adult facing the difficulty. That develops self-esteem and helps to feel more confident and determined. Of course, it's OK if you can't find a way by yourself. It happens, we all need somebody around. Although we have to learn to be independent - you are always the first person who can support you.
