ICE canola climbs off 4-1/2-month low

Nov 2 (Reuters) - ICE canola futures climbed on Thursday, rising from a 4-1/2-month low hit the previous day:

January canola RSv1 rose $9.30 to $682.60 per metric ton.

Farmers are disinclined to sell at current levels, one trader said, although canola attracted some offers earlier in the session when it rose towards $700 per metric ton.

The January to March spread traded 5,774 times.

U.S. soybean futures rose after China said imports will likely stay high as it sets an all-time record for purchases of the crop this year while weather remains a concern in Brazil.

Benchmark CBOT soybeans Sv1 settled up 13-1/4 cents $13.28-1/4 a bushel.
