AUDS is an acronym for Anti-UAV Defence System and refers to a specific product. As it was once of the first commercially available C-UAS (Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System) some incorrectly use it as a generic term for anti-drone rather than a specific product. So AUDS is product that falls under the category C-UAS and Anti Drone, but other solutions should not be referred to as AUDS.
there have been many advancements in UAVs and drones as well as technology used to counter them, as an example the AUDS uses jamming as its countermeasure, but this only works on drones that operate on the frequencies being jammed. some drones fly using AI and have no frequencies and thus are completely immune to a system like the AUDS.
