Learning languages has always been a huge necessity for people, no matter where they are originally from. Although it remains being the decision that has to be made by the individuals voluntarily, language provides a variety of opportunities which many of us cannot refuse.
Apart from having a capability of working in the international companies, making new acquaintances and travelling, studying new languages also helps to improve your brain power and even the mindset.
However, when I began my path of learning I couldn't think of anything, but having fun discovering something new. In fact I started to do so at the age of 4-6 when my parents first showed me a British teaching cartoon called Muzzy in Gondoland. On a subconscious level I could pick up some of the simplest words in a silly way, which I obviously liked.
Surprisingly, I didn't make a good progress studying English at school, although I had thought it was going to be a pretty gripping subject to study. I wasn't able to see any link between what was in the student's book and what we were told by the teacher. I literally struggled with the most basic things.
At that time I couldn't imagine that just after two years I'll eventually understand that I was right and English is not only about difficult incoherent rules.
Following the recommendations of our family's friend, my cousin and I were both sent to the local English school LSC. Nice teachers, the unique studying programme and welcoming atmosphere made me feel inspired to start hard work. Now it's been 5 years since I've started acquiring new language. After a such stint of studying I attained the C1 level of English.
What advice I've always sticked to is that the amount of time you dedicate doing something is the only thing that breeds a good result. Thus, lots of different foreign sources such as music, films and articles are now an integral part of my everyday life.
It's never late to try out something new! Then why don't you start with acquiring other languages right now?!
