Let me tell you about the versions of the legends of the origin of wine-making in ancient China.🍷
⬇️
According to one version, the first systematised knowledge emerged during the lifetime of a man like Yi Di. We do not know whether this man really existed, nor do we know his exact years of life and social status. In some historical records, he is described as an official in charge of wine production. He lived in the period of Emperor Yu of the Xia period (23-16th century B.C.). He is credited with the creation of the Jiulao wine infusion (yellow wine).
Legend has it that he created an excellent wine and offered it to Emperor Yu. He as a true gourmand appreciated the creation and alienated Yi Di from himself. The Emperor Yu believed that future emperors would ruin the country by drinking this delicious drink.
Yi Di is regarded more as a master winemaker than as a creator of wine. After all, the origins of wine-making can be traced back to the era of the "Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors" (the third millennium BC).
It dates back to the Yellow Emperor Huang-di, Yao and the last of the Five Emperors, Shun. But there is no information about the wine industry at that time.
☝️ Jiulao* (yellow wine) - is a vinous rice infusion. Lao - is a porridge made from fermented sticky rice. This wine has five types.
