Alexey Safonov, a football agent, has shared his thoughts on the recently published information by the Russian Football Union (RFU) regarding the amount of remuneration paid by RPL clubs to intermediaries in 2022. According to the RFU, the total amount of remuneration paid was 1,144,902,330.58 rubles, 1,047,539.63 US dollars, and 23,027,935.47 euros.
Safonov believes that the amount of remuneration paid by RPL clubs to intermediaries in 2022 is small compared to the amounts paid in England, which is around 300 or 400 million euros. He also noted that the quality of players in Russia has deteriorated, and foreign players are no longer coming to the RPL, which has affected the market. Safonov stated that until the political situation normalizes, the situation is unlikely to improve. He added that it is not common for football agents to be in the black while everyone else is suffering losses.
In terms of agency payments, Spartak paid the most among RPL clubs in 2022, with 4,817,960 euros, 267,986,663 rubles, and 36,658.63 dollars. Zenit and CSKA were also in the top three, with 85,328,000 rubles and 6,601,000 euros, and 910,881 dollars and 6,582,253.47 euros, respectively.
