Let me introduce you a man who was always chasing his dreams and did something as a result extraordinary in his life.
Jack is the middle age man lives on an island which lies far away from the civil world. To become more familiar with him we should mention that
Jack is a complete introvert, with no wife or kids, only occasional talks with neighbours could make him a company. Most of the time he does not need anyone.
He likes to think about global problems of humanity. For example, how easily we can be affected by something? We choose expensive products over cheaper ones even if we don’t like them wholeheartedly.
The research says that we were told to buy this products because of high quality and it is very rare. Another situation which might happen is that you can notice how easy a person can offend someone without intention to do it. Enigmatic puzzling of daily modern life.
Okay, you might think it is all what is meant to be but let me add that our character is not an ordinary man as you may think of him. Who on earth will be living in a quiet place alone? Can anyone spot a talented person underneath this simple introduction?
Have you ever thought that living the life of your dream is real and all you need to do is to go to this island and visit... Jack. Alright, a simple visit didn't hurt anyone. What is next?
You drive to his house on bike along the beautiful coastline where from both sides you hear the power of the oceanic waves surged back and forth into the darkness of the depth. The smell of salty water mixed with the aroma of the wet road is such magnetism for those who enter this place and was impelled to bond their lives with this area forever.
If you were living on this island you would sell the bottles full of local air to places with deforestation, cities experiencing the combustion of fuels, sources of carbon dioxide to remind people about the beauty of nature and the importance of living a fulfilled and healthy life.
When you arrive to Jack`s home, you are more than welcome to follow him into the room of delusion. You were told to sit in the homely reddish armchair and before even starting to observe what is around you, gently suggested by an owner to put stained glass helmet on your head.
"Follow my instructions if you want to change the reality around you," mumbled Jack to the visitor.
The Visitor replied,"Yeah, sure. I am just a little bit nervous..."
"Trust me. I know there is no such word as "trust" existed in our world but I can say you still remember what does that mean. You knew pretty well where you were heading beforehand, there is no time to reverse this process of experiencing the reality I am offering you."
"Sir, all these people..."questioned the Visitor, "who tried this for the first time...are they still alive?"
"You've got to be kidding me. First of all you saw that god damn ad in the science magazine, am I right? Then, you relied on reviews of those who first encountered with this and there is no confirmation from the greatest brains of the world that this idea is safe and there won't be any consequences afterwards."
"I understand. Probably needed to foresee my first reaction and suppress the emotions. Excuse me sir. My thoughts appalled me"
"Alright, are you ready?
Jack went out the room of delusion and headed towards the balcony with a remote controller in his hand which reminded of the old tool for switching TV channels.
Meanwhile, the Visitor is thinking about his position in life and that actually he is very grateful for everything that he has and what is more, he will definitely come up to that woman and ask her for a date next time she will be seen in the office. The idea to miss this chance frightens him so much.
Anyway, he is very enthusiastic about Jack`s new invention the advertisement of which popped up in the evening news when he came home after another exhausting day at work. He thought to himself that it is enough for him and he barely can make a good life without trying something new. Now he is here, listening his heart beating in extreme high rate. However, he has no intention of leaving this place.
"One more important thing to ask you about," said Jack, "Do you like reading fiction?"
"Yes, I do. My favourite book is Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I know a little bit about the author, in particular that she was a daughter of Mary Wollstonecraft, an advocate of equal human rights in the seventeenth century. I read about her life and it impressed me very strongly because as results of her activity were a lot of misfortunes in her life."
"Would you like to try life of Viktor the scientist or Viktor the creature?"
"The second one. Understanding of creature's nature will allow me to look back at my own life from a different perspective. I must say that we both have something in common which I would like to understand more accurately. This monster and I are bound together by a vicious cycle of unwanted existential thoughts, sparking curiosity about the world around, and questions being still unanswered."
Your creation reminded me of Viktor who tried to play with God and failed. I am not questioning the power of your abilities, I am merely remarking upon the adequacy of such innovation,"here he lowered his voice, "I am very tired and also excited at the same time."
"Do not explain, I totally understand you. Humanity left behind itself many solved problems and riddles of the Universe. However, as we can notice, some issues remained untouched even though a lot of individuals tried their best to succeed in this area. I myself, realise it is not the end of our civilisations, it is the beginning of global prosperity over corruption, hate, manipulation. Just imagine how beautiful things could be if everyone
had equal rights to live the life of their dream. I know, you may want to say wouldn't it worsen things and led to overconsumption of people. I should assure you that you do not need to worry about that because I already planed how to prevent it in advance."
"But...how to trust? People literally have contracts with their loved ones in order to protect themselves from unwanted circumstances when your mate found another partner and moved to the new family. What would you do? In the past in such situations a person who is in this kind of a trouble could not afford a stable life, will become an alcoholic with a serious debt. These years you may be protected from this, but family affairs is the last trustworthy thing we can point out.
Moreover, I am not talking about friendship, with the rise of the internet people found comfort listening to people they do not know and therefore lost connection to real friends. It is just a new normal. I can't fathom it out"
"Oh man!" Jack exclaimed, "It seems to me that you do not believe in seeing a beautiful world that lies right in front of you."
"You mean your creation will allow me to see that?"*laughs*
"Absolutely! At least I hope it will work for my precious clients", added solemnly Jack.
"Not funny..." said the Visitor with a grumpy face expression.
"Let's get started, shall we?"
A green light on, the motor is the most suitable solution for small projects like this. It is a typical spark-ignition engine, the air-fuel mixture is drawn into the cylinder by the suction created by the downward motion of the piston. The fuel is then compressed by the piston and ignited by a spark plug.
The overall construction looks as a streamlined metallic square with tiny neon lamps on it shining one by one reminding of the equaliser when the engine starts working. It is time to try it out, no time to reverse this process.
Both of them were preoccupied and worried that did not notice how already belonged to another realm, delightful and untouched by other human beings.
The room lightened and filled with the melodious sound from the machine. The intensity of the fear has decreased therefore the characters can observe the situation more precisely.
From the perspective of inventor he is glad that is able to see the results of his passion. There were days when he envisaged this could lead him into nowhere despite the fact that plan was detailed and comprehensive. "May good things happen to you!" solemnly said Jack and sit in his chair with a cup of jasmine tea to help him relax.
I am pretty sure that you, reader, can recall a day in life full of adventures, unexpected deep potholes you managed to escape. That is exactly what the Visitor is experiencing now, challenging himself. The old type internet connection will lost in the darkest matters if this experience worth it. What does he feel at this moment? From the visible part there is nothing strange with the appearance of the visitor, it seems he is dreaming in the cozy armchair with a strange shining helmet on his head, resting and restoring himself during sleep.
Meanwhile, he has arrived to the place where all begins when the engine made him "open" his eyes. He looks around trying to spot where he is.
It feels like it happens so far away from his "true" life. The same when you might experience a waking dream...
The Visitor opens his eyes and first he observes are the hands of him tremendously huge compare to his "human" ones.
He doesn't remember anything happened before this moment. It seems as a beginning of life he never lived before. "Is this really happening to me?"said the Vi(kt)zitor to himself.
"What shall I do with all of this? It is time to get to know myself even better I guess. I need to discover who I am, which behavioural patters I possess, what are my dreams about, where my family or friends are...if they even exist in this world. My head aches so much I barely can focus on one thought... Time to take a deep breath in and come up with the ideas on how to answer to my questions."
Now Viktor Frankenstein is a real creature from the book of Marry Shelly stands up from the edge of the bed on which he found himself not a long time ago, unbending his muscled back, squared his shoulders and felt the beautiful sensation throughout his body, the relief difficult to describe...
"I have never felt myself better", solemnly acclaimed Viktor and came closer to the mirror.
This is where he was frightened as a child who heard a strong thunderstorm for the first time in life, by looking in the reflection and examining how tremendous and scaring his look is. All of a sudden he felt a pain in the heart resembling that when a person undergoes a difficult emotional situation.
With a great desire to find out who he is, our creature left the room and in front of him at the exit was a curved staircase which led to the outside where the sky is blue and the greenery is lush. No a single creation like him around, Viktor now is fighting with an anger because understands there is something he does need to know but it is hidden deeply from him and probably for the reason.
The creature looked how shiny it is from the outer part of the world but from the inner side was all the way disturbing so he couldn't resist but started to be mad at himself.
He grasped on reality. Nobody comes to spend time with him, lost in loneliness. Just having this in mind, the unexpected happened. The car which showed within a couple of minutes, pulled over Monster and right out of it get Viktor Frankenstein. The Creature knew that this person abandoned him, forcing the struggling main character with the difficult life to become mad at his father, Viktor. On the other hand, Viktor Frankenstein has read it in the evil facial expressions of the Monster, calmly put his hands up showing that he is really sorry for what the Creature went through.
Pause. The air filled with orchid notes became chilled.
"Why did you come back after me?"asked impatiently the Creature
"You know..."started Viktor Frankenstein. "This life is precious and we are lucky to be here in every forms and shapes and nobody can say otherwise. This world suffers from standardised opinions and outlook should be changed if we want to go further and enjoy new perspectives.
I know that you are interested in finding answers to your questions, however I should say it is impossible to answer to all of them. Imagine you are encountering each person on this planet through your life and ask questions, how long would it take you to do it? The answer is simple: pick a few the most intriguing ones which bother you the most and stick to them. I am sure that the Universe will respond to you, do not worry. "
"Can I call you dad?"empathetically asked the Monster
"Yes, sure, but wouldn't you mind if we stay outside of this town, near the ocean? I want you to understand me right, the society isn't ready yet..."
The Creature smiled for the first time in a while...
The Visitor felt warmth as it was the sun shining brightly kissing his skin. "I need to bring back LOVE into my life."
All of a sudden he has heard the voice of Jack, who as it seems tried to return his client back to a normal life.
The man made devise converts its nuclear energy into mechanical one allowing to transmit motion into a fluid and this neon substance fill the hoses up to the helmet on Visitor and within five more seconds he opens his eyes wide awakened.
"How was it?"asked Jack in a trembling voice
"Fantastic! This invention can treat people better that doctors do, plus in addition to this people get invaluable knowledge according to their needs. I am impressed!"proclaimed the Visitor in the end.
Then the Visitor started to pack his belongings illuminating a humble smile on his face...
