Advantages of gap year
Relaxation
I spent 11 years at school, studying hard. No wonder if you want to relax. A year off is an opportunity to recuperate and recharge your batteries. After my vacation, it will be easier for me to learn the basics of my future profession at university, prepare for work and adulthood.
The opportunity to retake the Unified State Exam
If the scores obtained for the Unified State Exam are not high enough for the university of your dreams, then gap year is a great option. A year of admission is the time that can be devoted to preparing for admission.
Clarifying goals
Not all children have a clear vision of their future after school. What profession should I choose, and what kind of job do I find attractive? A one—year break before completing higher education is the time to sort yourself out and decide on further studies.
Gaining experience
A year off after school is an opportunity to gain work experience in your chosen field. Additional skills will help with admission and during university studies. During the vacation, a salary will help a young person to pay for courses and tutors on their own, as well as provide for their needs and desires.

The cost of a one-year break depends on what goals the graduate sets for himself. If you want to travel after school, you need to buy tickets, book a hotel, etc. If the vacation before higher education is devoted to preparing for university admission, then you need to pay for tutors or courses. Ask your loved ones if they are ready to support you and to what extent. You can use the break to try to earn money on your own.
Loss of motivation to enroll
Vacations after school can be spent in different ways. The danger lies in both excessive independence and excessive relaxation. If you are already earning money, then returning to education may not be so attractive anymore. Too relaxed a regime reduces motivation for admission. After school, returning to academic life may not be so attractive.
Army
The main disadvantage for boys is the prospect of serving in the army. If a young man has already turned 18 after school and has no health restrictions, then he will have to spend the gap year in the ranks of the armed forces. This option is not suitable for all people, which means that skipping a year just won't work.
