Cricket
Cricket is a beloved sport in the United Kingdom with a rich history. The game involves two teams of eleven players each. Each team takes turns batting and fielding.
Batting: Players hit a ball with a bat, aiming to score runs while avoiding being dismissed. Each player has four attempts to hit the ball.
Fielding: The other team tries to prevent scoring and dismiss the batsmen by capturing their wickets. A wicket is made of three wooden stumps with two bails. If the ball hits the wicket or dislodges the bails, the batsman is out.
Dismissal: A batsman can be dismissed in several ways, such as being bowled (hit by the ball), caught (caught by a fielder), leg before wicket (LBW, if the ball hits the leg), or run out (if the batsman is dismissed while running between wickets).
The game continues with teams alternating between batting and fielding until all ten batsmen from one team are dismissed or the team declares their innings closed. The team with the higher score wins.
Cricket also has different formats like Test matches, One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 (T20) matches, each with specific rules and duration.
