Хочу поделиться с Вами примером эссе международного экзамена IELTS academic, task 2 (задание 2), а также типичными трудностями, которые могут возникнуть при написании и простым алгоритмом, который поможет справиться с этими трудностями.
Итак, задание сформулировано следующим образом:
In the past, when students did a university degree, they tended to study in their own country. Nowadays, they have more opportunity to study abroad. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this development?
You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.
ПРИМЕР ответа:
Recent decades are marked by acceleration of the globalization process and gradual vanishing of physical, cultural, and time borders. International communication, tourism, business and education became easier and more affordable. As a result, young people got a real opportunity to choose the institution and the country where to pursue a university degree.
An important advantage of this opening possibility is the benefit of cultural exchange obtained by students while staying abroad. I was an exchange student for one year in an English-speaking country, and the exposure to the real environment of academic, social, and cultural life was remarkable. This experience still helps me in my work and even in everyday life in terms of better understanding and interpreting the cultural, political, and social features.
The main disadvantage of the global educational perspective is the leakage of young population from home country. A certain number of international students stay in the country where they get a university degree. It happens naturally and in number of cases even unplanned due to some reasonable aspects such as the employment offers or engagement in relationship.
In my opinion, the opportunity of studying abroad to pursue a degree is not the best option for young people due to the risk of leaving the home country. The better option which becomes now more and more accessible is international academical exchange for a limited period of time – one academic term or year. It is an excellent opportunity to get the experience of cultural exchange without assimilation in foreign country.

2) Understanding the topic.
Сложности с пониманием самой темы.
3) Structure and logic composition of the essay.
Из второго пункта вытекает сложность с построение общей логики ответа.
4) Punctuation.
Пунктуация. Соблюдение норм и правил английской пунктуации.
АЛГОРИТМ - памятка по написанию #эссе второго задания письменной части #Ielts
Отсутствие опыта и знаний в той или йной области поможет скорректировать чтение примеров эссе на соответствующий темы, а также статей из журналов и газет и других публицистических изданий.
Перейдем к алгоритму:
1) Внимательно прочитайте тему эссе.
2) Напишите краткий (тезисный) план, отражающий структуру и основную логику вашего эссе и еще раз оцените, насколько он раскрывает заданную тему.
3) Подумайте над синонимами и синонимичными фразами для перефразирования основной темы.
4) Используйте средства лексической связи, подходящие для данного типа эссе.
5) Используйте структуру, подходящую для данного типа эссе.
6) Делая вывод в заключении, проверьте насколько он соответствует логике поставленного в теме вопроса/ тезиса.
7) Проверьте пунктуация эссе, используя чек лист по пунктуации.
