Конструкция there is (there are) говорит нам о существовании людей, вещей и т.д. Значение этой конструкции «есть», «имеется», «находится», «существует».
Порядок слов:
There is (there are) + подлежащее + обстоятельство места / времени (где? когда?)
В моей комнате есть телефон. – There is a telephone in my room.
В саду много деревьев. – There are many trees in the garden.
There is вводит существительное в единственном числе, there are – существительное во множественном числе.
Если в предложении несколько подлежащих, сказуемое согласуется с первым:
There is a table and six chairs in the room.
There are six chairs and a table in the room.
There is (there are) также может употребляться в разных временах: в настоящем, прошедшем и будущем.
There is (there are) в вопросительной форме
There is (there are) в отрицательной форме

Exercise 2. Напишите, что есть, и чего нет в холодильнике. Составьте утвердительные и отрицательные предложения с оборотом there is/there are, используя слова из таблицы.

Exercise 3. Задайте вопросы, о том, что есть в комнате с оборотом there is/there are, используя слова из таблицы. Дайте краткие ответы на вопросы.
