International Cricket: Nicholas Pooran named as West Indies limited overs skipper

International Cricket: Nicholas Pooran, an emerging wicketkeeper batsman from Trinidad (country in the Caribbean) born on October 2, 1995 has been one of the most aggressive as well as the young West Indian batsman. The journey of the boy started from the year 2012 when he was only 16, played for Naparima College in San Fernando where he made a debut for the U-19 team. His talents made him selected for the 2014 U-19 World Cup team and was allotted the position of vice-captain, his performance was so mesmerizing that he scored 303 runs from 6 games and was ranked as number 4 in the view of top run scorers in the world cup. He carried his gameplay in the debut match against Guyana Amazon Warriors where he smashed 54 runs off 24 balls and therefore he was seen as the calm and cool player.

The journey of International debut started in the year 2016 in the form of T20, where his performance was not that good. He came as a shining star in the year 2018 and 2019 where he scored two half centuries in the small period of time against India and England. In the year 2019 he was selected for the 2019 ICC World Cup where made 367 runs in nine matches and also came up with a first century against the Sri Lankan cricket team.
