Hello. Today I want to tell you about ski sport. It`s interesting for me because every winter in my school our class go skiing, it`s really fun!
Ski sport started in Scandinavia in the 18th century.
It was first "transport" that peasants had got.
There are some kinds of ski sports in our time:
1. Piste skating.
2. Freeride or off-piste.
3. Backcountry.
4. Ski tour.
5. Heliski.
6. Carving.
7. Freestyle.
This sport not only men can try, women can too. Ski sport is very populaer in our time.
The most popular persins are Khetil Andre Omodt and Yanitsa Kostelich .
Khetil Andre Omodt is the man with eight Olimpic medals and Yanitsa Kostelich is the woman with four gold medals.
In 1911, the first downhill competition was held. And ski sport is the part of Olimpic Games. And some competitions of ski sport are the part of 5 disciplines.
