Предлагаю читателям ознакомиться с образцом выполнения задания 40.1 из открытого варианта КИМ ЕГЭ по английскому языку 2022 года, опубликованного на сайте ФИПИ (PDF-файлы с образцами письменной и устной частей имеются и в разделе «Файлы» в моей группе ВКонтакте – здесь и здесь); тема проекта – «Почему компьютерные игры популярны среди подростков в Зетландии»; объем – 273 слова; использован британский вариант английского языка.
With the advent of the internet, the popularity of computer games has significantly increased all over the world, especially among young people. I am currently working on a project whose aim is to establish why computer games are popular among teenagers in Zetland. Below, I am going to analyse the statistics I have found on this issue. (57 words)
As can be seen from the table, the number of youngsters who play computer games to entertain themselves equals 46%, and that is the most widespread motivation. Just over a fifth of the respondents (21%) try to make new friends while playing. Another key feature of the results of the opinion polls is that only a small minority of the teenagers surveyed (9%) regard games as a way of relaxation, which places this reason at the bottom of the table. (80 words)
Further analysis shows that improving mental skills and developing hand-eye coordination are the motives less favoured by young Zetlanders, with the former holding third position (13%) and the latter ranking fourth (11%). The fact demonstrates that there are physiological reasons to play computer games along with psychological: teenagers not only seek positive emotions, but also want to make their body and mind work better. However, there is a problem connected with playing computer games: the depictions of violence are said to increase youngsters’ aggression. In order to solve the problem, parents should control their children’s activities and choose games recommended only for young audiences. (40 words)
I think that despite some potential problems, the role of computer games as a technically advanced leisure activity and a way of socialising with like-minded peers is rather important in teenagers’ life. (32 words)
