"Our task is to develop it, actively using it in all spheres. We must leave a modern language as a legacy to our descendants, in which our noticeable trace would be harmoniously added to the experience of many generations of our ancestors. This is a task that every self—respecting person should solve independently," the leader of the nation N.A.Nazarbayev said
The Kazakh language is unique in many ways. For example, like the Turks, the Kazakhs have used runic writing since ancient times. Further, under the Arab—Muslim influence, the Kazakh language switched to Arabic graphics, and since 1929 the transition to the Latin alphabet was made, followed by the transition in 1940 to Cyrillic.
Today, the Kazakh alphabet in our country consists of 42 letters based on the Cyrillic alphabet with the addition of additional letters.
Interesting fact about our language
The majority of Kazakhs use their native language in communication with loved ones – 51.1%. And only 3.6% of Russians and 4.6% of representatives of other ethnic groups speak Kazakh. Russian is spoken by 9.6% of Kazakhs, 83.3% of Russians and 40.5% of representatives of other ethnic groups.
The role of the Kazakh language in society
We think that if a person knows another language, he is a spiritually rich person. Because through this language, the culture and traditions of another people are learned, through the study of another language, its knowledge expands. Therefore, we urge our contemporaries, as the poet K. Myrzaliev said, "know everything in another language, respect your language," knowing another language, first of all respect your native language.
