The three most popular cities on the Côte d'Azur are undoubtedly Nice, Cannes and Monaco. Every year, an unimaginable number of tourists from all over the world arrive at Cote d'Azur Airport to enjoy a wonderful holiday.
Nice
The largest city of the French Riviera is the many-sided, stunning Nice.
How gracefully this city combined the fusion of two cultures! Here, in the middle of the city, the river Peillon flows, which divides the city into two parts, and these parts are so different! The right side of the city is modern and French, where shopping and business centers are concentrated. The left side, which is the Old Town, is incredibly reminiscent of Italian Turin! Flowering gardens, bright buildings, ancient courtyards and cobblestone pavements. Many buildings here were built in the 14th century, and are of cultural and historical value. It is in this part of the city that the largest number of museums, cozy restaurants with Mediterranean cuisine, which has taken the best of Italian and French traditions, is concentrated.
Nightclubs are located mainly on the coastline, along the picturesque Promenade des Anglais. And here there is access to the clean white beaches that the Cote d'Azur is so famous for.
There is the largest airport in the region near with Nice. Transfer from airport to the hotel in Nice costs about 30 euro.
Cannes
The place wich embodies luxury and glamor is the magnificent Cannes, the pearl of the Cote d'Azur. You will be enchanted by the exquisite beaches, most of which are private, natural treasures, the amazing color of the sea and the incomparable architecture of the old city.
In the evening, after a beach holiday, you can walk down the Croisette, the main attraction of Cannes, which offers an inspiring view of the bay. Here, along the boulevard, the best hotels and restaurants of the city, the shady Rosary Park and numerous yacht clubs are located.
The old town of Cannes - Suquet deserves special attention. It has retained the atmosphere of a medieval fishing village with secluded courtyards, narrow staircases and, of course, an old church dating back to the 11th century. Suquet is located on a hilltop, so it offers a very picturesque view of the city and the sea, and below the Old Town is the ancient port of Cannes, where it will be very pleasant to walk at sunset.
You can get there by car, bus, train or order a taxi or transfer from Nice airport to Cannes.
Monaco
Monaco is a small principality on the coast of the Ligurian Sea, bordering France. The abundance of various leisure activities is truly amazing and will satisfy the needs of the most sophisticated traveler. Only here you can have breakfast in the mountains in the morning, go for a ride on a luxury yacht on the azure clear sea in the afternoon, look into a fashionable restaurant for dinner, where guests are allowed in according to a strict dress code and spend the night in the most luxurious casino in the world. And all this is literally on two square kilometers of the area of the principality.
Beach lovers will appreciate the impeccably clean Larvotto beach, where a huge number of restaurants and bars are located very close to the beach. Those who, when traveling, pay attention to the architecture of the places they visit, also have something to see. The Prince's Palace of Monaco is open for visits from June to October, and Monaco - Ville will conquer you with the atmosphere of the Middle Ages and ancient architecture. And of course, the legendary Monte Carlo casino, where the richest people from all over the world gather. By the way, an amazing fact is that the Opera House is located in the same building with the casino. And this once again proves that Monaco is a city of contrasts.
There is no airport in principality, tourists most often fly to Nice, and from there they order a taxi or a transfer to Monaco.
Everyone chooses by himself in which city he wants to spend his unforgettable holidays!
