Завод «Дагдизель» — одно из старейших и крупнейших промышленных предприятий в Дагестане, которое ведет свою историю с 1932 года. В советское время это был один из ведущих заводов СССР по производству дизелей и торпед.
Сам цех №8, находящийся посреди водной глади Каспийского моря — одна из самых необычных достопримечательностей в округе. Несмотря на заброшенное состояние, сооружение считается одним из символов Каспийска и его даже поместили на герб города.
Кроме производственных помещений, в здании 8-го цеха были лифт, столовая, общежитие для рабочих, спортзал и библиотека, а на полу практически везде был паркет. На самом верху сооружения находилась смотровая площадка.
Предназначался же новый цех для испытания морского оружия — в основном торпед. Сооружение получило название «Массив». Говорят, что в советское время секретный восьмой цех было запрещено не то что фотографировать, а даже открыто говорить о нем.
В настоящее время добраться до восьмого цеха можно только на катере с городского пляжа. Заходить внутрь не рекомендуется, так как постройка в аварийном состоянии.

The Dagdiesel plant is one of the oldest and largest industrial enterprises in Dagestan, which dates back to 1932. In Soviet times, it was one of the leading factories in the USSR for the production of diesel engines and torpedoes.
Workshop No. 8 itself, located in the middle of the water surface of the Caspian Sea, is one of the most unusual sights in the area. Despite the abandoned state, the building is considered one of the symbols of Kaspiysk and was even placed on the coat of arms of the city.
In addition to production facilities, the building of the 8th workshop had an elevator, a canteen, a hostel for workers, a gym and a library, and there was parquet on the floor almost everywhere. At the very top of the building was an observation deck.
A new workshop was intended for testing naval weapons - mainly torpedoes. The structure was named "Massive". They say that in Soviet times, the secret eighth workshop was forbidden not only to photograph, but even to speak openly about it.
Currently, you can get to the eighth workshop only by boat from the city beach. It is not recommended to go inside, as the building is in disrepair.
