“Gap year” is a great opportunity to take rest from studying and go somewhere abroad to explore different cultures, do volunteering or go traveling.
Gap year can lasts for a month or a year. This time you get a lot of useful skills. Such as communication, problem solving, time management, independence and others.
Everyone can search a program which is best for them. For example, if you like to feel useful and helping others, volunteering abroad is perfect thing for you. Or you can choose traveling if you like getting to know new people and finding out how they live.
But if I decided to take a gap year I would go to Africa.
In my opinion, Africa is the best place to take a gap year doing all that things. There you can experience adventure and excitement. A gap year there is a great opportunity for self-discovery, learning, teaching, exploring, or just for being. On continent there are some of the most beautiful cities in the world, such as Cape Town and Cairo.
Africa is also where you can find perfect peaceful silence, staring at the stars while on Safari or climbing one of the many stunning and isolated mountains.
The three most popular areas of volunteer work are teaching, working in social organizations and wildlife conservation. There are many advantages to teaching: you interact with the local people and practice your language skills.
Many companies offer volunteer-ships that focus on wildlife conservation. Volunteer programs often focus on a specific species or geographic region and provide a chance to take valuable experience, a unique challenge, and the opportunity to learn from local experts.
Taking a gap year is the opportunity of a lifetime. You will never get bored of doing work there. Spending your Gap Year in Africa will change your life. You will come back having discovered so much about the world.
