Gustav Klimt: how he became to his art style.

                                  Early life and work.

dGustav Klimt was born in Baumgarten, near Vienna in the Austrian Empire, the second of seven children, three boys and four girls. His mother Anna Klimt, had unrealized ambitions to be a musical performer. His father Ernst, formerly from Bohemia, was a gold engraver. All three of their sons displayed artistic talent at an early age. Klimt`s younger brothers were Ernst Klimt jr. and Georg Klimt.    Gustav studied in a school of applied arts and crafts now this school is a University of Applied arts Vienna, where he studied architectural painting from 1876 until 1883. Klimt lived in poverty while he was in Vienna. In 1888 Klimt geted a Gold Order of Merit from Emperor Franc Josef I of Austria for his contribution to murals painted in the Burgtheater in Vienna. He also became a famous member of the University of Munich and the University of Vienna (where he  studied). In 1892 Klimt`s  father and brother Ernst died and death of them approached Gustav to assume financial responsibility for his brother`s and father`s families (and plus for all this he had to be finicall responsibility). All these tragedies also affected his artistic vision and soon he would move towards a new personal style. 

                       Golden style and critical success.

Gustav Klimt had his own manner, you can see it in his artworks which he painted at the end of his life. The most famous picture painted in this manner was “Portree of Adele Bloch-Bauer”. This portrait was sold for a record price 135$ million in 2006.  He started drowning in this manner in 1898. Some people think that lots of gold in his artworks is very tasteless, but that exactly attracts others. 

                      Posthumous success.

Pushared for the Neue Gallery in New York by Ronald Lauder for a reported US $135 million, the 1907 portrait Adele Bloch-Bauer I deposed Picasso`s “boy with a pipe” (which was sold for a price for $104 million) as the highest reported price ever paid for a piece of art sold at a public auction. 

                                                  Death.

In 1911 his painting “Death and Life” received first prize in the World Exhibition in Rome. In 1915 Anna, his mother, died. Klimt died three years later in Vienna on 6th February 1918, having suffered a stroke and pneumonia due to the worldwide influenza epiemic of that year. He was buried at the Hietzinger Cemetery in Vienna. Austria had many special exhibitions commemorating the 150th anniversary of Klimt`s birth in 2012. 

                                         Epilogue.

Gustav Klimt was a genius artist, his  brainchild is Austrian modern like an Independent style. He stayed now like only one modern artist. Once he met, when he was a judge of  competition among young artists  where he met a young Adolf Hitler, before becoming a leader of nazizm he tried to be a painter. And  after a long time the leader of nazizm Spared his judge and did not take more than one picture from him.
