Salvador Dali
He was born on eleventh may 1904 Figueres, Spain.
When he was a child Dali was very thoughtful,but arrogant and uncontrollable.Once he started a scandal on the main square for sweet, after that policemen asked the shopkeeper to give the boy a sweet and he gave it.
He has a lot of fobies and complexes such as his fear on grasshoppers.
His classmates treated the Dali very intolerable, used his fear on grasshoppers,slipped him by the neck of this injects,which made Salvador hysterical.
Dali was haunted by the idea of a dead brother all his life and Dali says about these so “He was probably the first version of myself but conceived too much in the absolute. Images of his brother you can see in his earliest works.
Dali also had a sister Anna Maria who was three years younger. In 1949 she published a book about her brother “ Dali as Seen by His Sister”.
When he was a child he played football during holidays at the Catalina resort with future FC “Barcelona” players Emili Sagi-Barba and Josep Samiter

After Dali return to his native Catalonia in 1948 , he publicy supported Franco’s regime and announced his return to the Catholic faith.Dali was granted an audience with Pope Pius XII in 1949 and with Pope John XXIII in 1959.He had official meeting with General Franco in June 1956 , October 1968 and May 1974.
In March 1938 Dali met Sigmund Freud thanks to Stefan Zweig. When Dali sketched Sigmund’s portrait,Freud said “That boy looks like a fanatic”. Dali was delighted upon hearing later about this comment from his hero. The following day Freud wrote to Zweig “…until now I have been inclined to regard the Surrealists who have apparently adopted me as their patron saint as complete fools… That young Spaniard, with his candid fanatical eyes and his undeniable technical mastery, has changed my estimate. It would Indeed be very interesting to investigate analytically how he came to create that picture”
In September that year Salvador Dali was invited to Gabrielle Coco Chanel house “La Pausa” in Roquebrune on the French Riviera. There he painted a lot of paintings, which were presented in his exhibition in Julienne Levy Gallery in New York. This exhibition in March-April 1939 included 21 paintings and 11 drawings. Life* reported that no exhibition in New York had been so popular since Whistler’s Mother was shown in 1934.
World War II
The outbreak of World War II in September 1939 saw Dali in France.
Following the German invasion, they were able to escape because on 20 June 1940 they were issued by Aristides de Sousa Mendes, Portugal consul in Bordeaux , France. They crossed into Portugal and after it they sailed on the Excambition from Lisbon to New York in August 1940. Dali and his wife Gala were abled to live in the United States for 8 years, splitting their time between New York and California.
In October 1942 Dali’s autobiography “The secret life of Salvador Dali” was published firstly in New York and London and was reviewed widely by the press. Time magazine’s reviewer called it “one of the most irresistible book of the year”.
Patrons.
From 1933 Dali was supported by Zodiac, a group of rich men who supported young artists exchange for a painting of their joice. From 1936 Dali's main patron in London was the wealthy Edward James who would support him financially for two years. One of Dali’s most important paintings from the period of James patronage was “The Metamorphosis of Narcissus”. They also collaborated on two of the most famous icons of Surrealism: “Lobster Telephone” and the “Mae West Lips Sofa”.

Marriage.
Salvador and Gala ( her name is Elena Ivanovna Diakonova and she was born in Kazan on 26 August 1894 and died at the age of 88) having lived together since 1929 were married on 13 January 1934 in Paris. They later remarried in a church ceremony on 8 August 1934 at Sant Marti Vell. In addition to inspiring many artworks throughout her life, Gala acted as Dali’s business manager supporting their extravagant lifestyle while adeptly steering clear of insolvency. They marriage life inspired Xavier Benguerel (Catalan composer) to create an opera about it and of this opera is “Jo, Dali” in translation it’s name turns to “I, Dali”
Gala Dali
Her real name is Elena Ivanovna Diakova, she was born in Kazan on 26 August 1894. We truly know that her family hosted Golden mines in Siberia.Elena studied in Moscow in Women's gymnasium. His sister Marina Zvetaeva is a very well known poetess. In 1912 she was directed to Switzerland for Treatments for tuberculosis. Where she met he first husband Paul Aluar.

In 1946 Dali worked with Walt Disney and animator John Hench on an unfinished animated film “Destino”.
In early 1948 Dali’s “50 Secrets of Magic Craftmanship” was published. The book was full of anecdotes, practical advice on painting and Dali’s polemic.
Exhumation.
On 26 June 2017 it was announced that a judge in Madrid had ordered the exhumation of Dali’s body in order to obtain a sample paternity suit. Joan Manuel Sevillano,manager of the Foundation Gala-Salvador Dali denounced the exhumation as inappropriate. The exhumation took place on the evening of 20 July, and his DNA was extracted. On 6 September 2017 the Foundation said that Salvador Dali and Joan Manuel Sevillano aren’t relatives. On 18 May 2020 a Spanish court recognised their relationship as impossible.
Death
Dali died at the age of 84 on 23 January 1989 in the place where he was born, Figueres, Catalonia , Spain. After Gala died Salvador moved into Pubol but in 1984 in his castle there was a fire. Paralysed old man rang the ball unsuccessfully trying to call for help, but in an attempt to crawl to the exit he passed out and suffered severe burns. In January 1989 Dali was hospitalized
with a diagnosis of heart failure.
