Many people think that our world is a scary place, full of all kinds of dangers and threats. They are partly right. There are many wrong, bad, dangerous, and painful things in the world. But if you think about it carefully, you will see that very often there is no reason to be afraid of them. Or we can put it differently: we can afford the luxury of not being afraid of them. The reason is: many fears are the result of misunderstandings, delusions, or even a simple habit of being afraid. If you look closely, it turns out that these scary things are not scary at all.
It turns out that people scare themselves, load themselves with fears, and then literally suffocate under this pressure. If you manage to get rid of this burden, life becomes much brighter and easier. And the worst thing about fears is that in reality, it is an illusion. It's a shame when something that doesn't exist oppresses you and spoils your life, cruelly torments you to the point of no return. Let’s have a look at ten outstanding things should never be afraid of.
1. Death. Let's start with the most important fear of all times. Most people traditionally believe that there is nothing more terrible than death. To emphasize this incredible horror, they say: "There is nothing worse than death." Many things are worse than death because it is not that scary. It is not the end of existence, not immersion in eternal suffering, and not the irrevocable loss of the world and oneself. Death is only the completion of one stage of life. When a physical body perishes then a human essence, which can also be called a soul, passes into the world of energy, lives there for some time, and then acquires a new body and new life in the world of matter. Each person dies and is born many times until he reaches the end of the current stage of his development. Thus, death is a normal phenomenon, one might even say, familiar, and there is nothing to be afraid of. It can be perceived as a temporary inconvenience, similar to moving from one place to another.
2. Hell. Many people believe that after death they will be punished in hell. According to some beliefs, this torment will be eternal; according to others, not eternal, but very long. It must be admitted that the belief in hell has real grounds. There is a place where you suffer after death. But it has nothing to do with what people imagine. It is not a place where sinners are tormented altogether, and the torment is not eternal, and this is not a punishment of higher powers. When a person lives and acts in a wrong way, contrary to the laws of Nature, specific negative energy arises and accumulates in him. When he leaves his body, this energy is released and begins to be neutralized. While this is happening, he experiences pain - in the way in which an energetic being can experience it. We call this state “personal hell”. This is the result of our actions. When some time passes and the accumulated negative energy is completely absorbed, a person is freed from his “personal hell” and begins the path to new birth. Each of us goes through personal hell many times, falling into it after each life, and we get out of it safe and sound. It is rather unpleasant but not bad enough to be afraid of it or panic. Just a little bit of pain and nothing irreparable.
3. The end of the world. It’s one of the most beloved horror stories of mankind. The final battle between good and evil, the apocalypse, the global destruction of the world, after which, according to some beliefs, a new, better world will come, while according to others, everything will start all over again. Almost all religions predict the end of the world in one form or another, and therefore people have always been afraid of it. They were afraid even though such predictions never come true. And even many of those who are not religious are expecting the end of the world. However, bearing in mind that there are no supernatural reasons. It seems that people just like to be afraid of it. This is one of the most unjustified fears. There are no forces that could start the last supernatural battle - simply because there is no supernatural. As for the global destruction that people themselves can provoke, this is completely different. This is not a mystical apocalypse that does not depend on people. People may not have enough common sense to preserve themselves and their world. However, at the same time, everything is in our hands. Instead of just sitting and being afraid, we need to do something to prevent this from happening.
4. Bad luck. There are many ridiculous reasons for this fear. And at the same time, most of them come from nowhere. They are just the result of imagination or superstitions. And even many quite sane and materialistic people are subject to this misfortune. And for those who are not materialistic, their religions try to explain the difference between faith and superstitions, emphasizing how ridiculous the latter are, but everything is in vain. Beliefs in bad luck are extremely contagious. It is like an addiction to a drug that disables the ability to think and causes phantasmagoric hallucinations. Superstitious people think that serious business, or even a person's life, may depend on a broken mirror or a black cat. What could be more ridiculous? People with ill imaginations may see a relationship between two unrelated things. This absurdity begins to spread like a virus and people begin to fear the most ridiculous things. Truly, trouble comes to him who seeks it.
5.Temptations. What is temptation? We can define it as a desire to do something bad but at the same time pleasant or beneficial. What does it mean to be afraid of temptation? It means being afraid that you will not be able to resist them. In other words, you are not afraid of temptation, but yourself and your weakness. But are you that weak? Most of the time, it is not a matter of inability but unwillingness to resist. You want to give in. And you begin to convince yourself that you are weak because it somehow justifies you in your own eyes. In reality, a person is stronger than any temptation. He has practically unlimited willpower. Unfortunately, people sometimes do not want to use it. What is more, they even do not want to be able to use it. After all, giving up is easier, often more enjoyable, and more profitable.
Why do people have tremendous willpower? The reason is – they should develop. They must be able to overcome wrong and choose right. If it was different, there would be no meaning in the existence of people, and they would not exist. We can say that we live to overcome temptation. This means we can win. People should not be afraid of temptations but should overcome them, considering them as an opportunity to become better. It is a shame to be afraid of your imaginary weakness.
6. Mistakes. Mistakes are an inevitable part of our reality. The ability to make mistakes is a side effect of cognition. People, as sentient beings, have always made mistakes and fallen into delusions. Cognition is a long and complex process. When you process information and make conclusions, now and then you make mistakes. Wrong ideas are followed by wrong conclusions, and then wrong actions, which are also called mistakes. Mistakes, as a phenomenon, are natural. They are a part of the human development program, unpleasant but quite normal. Therefore, mistakes should not be feared. Their negative consequences can cause regret but this is something different. There is no need to be afraid of mistakes. You need to learn from them. Then something unpleasant will turn into something useful. However, you should not make mistakes on purpose. When you do something, knowing that you are doing wrong, then it is not a mistake, but a just cynical justification for your outrage. Whoever does this is a liar and he tries to lie to himself.
7. Suffering. Like mistakes, suffering is an integral part of human life. Very often people are even more tormented by the thought that suffering could have been avoided, but that did not work. Thus, when you take suffering for granted, it becomes much easier. You stop wasting your life trying to avoid the inevitable, you stop tormenting yourself with fear that higher forces are sending you suffering. Instead, you focus on enduring suffering and overcoming adversity, and, as a result, you get stronger. You do not try to avoid suffering through cowardice, villainy, and deliberately bad deeds because you understand: you still cannot avoid suffering, and your life will never be completely trouble-free. Therefore, it is better to suffer and be humane than to become a coward or a scoundrel and still suffer. By overcoming suffering, and most importantly, choosing in favor of the right action, even if it may cause suffering, we take the largest and the most important steps in our development. What is the point of being afraid of the inevitable? This fear does not help, does not save, but only additionally tortures and exhausts people. Like temptation, suffering must be seen as an opportunity to become better and stronger. Then you can face them with a smile.
8. Old age. Old age is often associated with weakness, illness, loss of attractiveness, physical and mental capabilities, and feeling that there is not so much time left. It is true but is it that bad? Bad things are unnatural. That is, if all of the above happened to a young man, it would be a disaster. However, if you are old, all this is normal. Old age is the final stage of the current life when a person has to change his body. The old body by this time wears out with brings some unpleasant moments. Likewise, we exchange worn-out clothes for new ones. To avoid this fear, you should understand that this is not the end. After all, the worst thing is to think that you will no longer be young, that everything will continue to be bad and even worse, and that you will face death and nothingness, or even eternal hell. The hopelessness frightens. But you will be young and strong again. You will die and be born again. You should just be patient for a while. Old age is associated with many unpleasant moments but, in reality, they are not terrible. It’s alright. And if you know how to relate to it correctly, it won’t become a burden and will bring many positive moments. This is how it should be.
9. Poverty. A person's satisfaction or dissatisfaction with his wealth depends on what opportunities he wants to have and what pleasures he wants to receive. A humble person without special requests will not consider poverty a problem. Let me emphasize that we are not talking about outrageous poverty when you live in a slum and cannot provide your children not only with comfort and decent education but even with food. I am talking about poverty to the level of moderate conveniences and opportunities. However, everything depends on requirements. A rich person whose standard of living has dropped to average will consider himself extremely poor. And if a very poor man gets a house and a modest income, he will consider himself rich. Everyone wants to live better, and then even better, and better, and better. That is why people are afraid of poverty. That is, they are afraid of not having what they would like to have. And trying to avoid poverty, many commit evil deeds and crimes. However, the meaning of life is not to prosper financially. It is about being humane and becoming even better. And poverty is not a barrier to this. And this is the most important thing. Therefore, there is no need to be afraid of poverty. If you can avoid it decently then it is great. If not, then take it as a test, and try to turn this test into an effective means of self-improvement.
10. Social stigmatization. Many people are afraid of social stigmatization. And at first glance, this is justified. However, let's ask ourselves a question: why can a person be stigmatized? There are two reasons. The first reason is - he did something bad and is judged for his deed. The second reason is: he did something good, but society does not agree with this, and he is stigmatized. For example, opponents of slavery in slave-owning societies were stigmatized. Thus, in both cases, it is pointless to be afraid of social stigmatization. If you are afraid of stigmatization because of a bad deed, then simply do not do it, and there will be nothing to be afraid of. However, if you still want to do it, it turns out that you are afraid of yourself. If you didn’t do it, then you were afraid in vain, because there’s nothing to blame you for. If you were afraid but did it anyway, then your fear did not make sense, for it did not keep you from the bad deed. If you intend to do the right thing, then what is the problem if you are judged? Their misunderstanding is their shortcoming, not yours. It is highly humiliating to be afraid to do the right thing. This means that you are a puppet in the hands of those who live wrongly and force you to do the same. And very often people behave unworthily because of the fear to be stigmatized. It should not be like this. Instead of being afraid of public judgment, you should try to do the right thing. Then no one will stigmatize you for the bad deed. And if you are stigmatized for the good deed then it can be taken as a compliment.
In conclusion, we can say that there are many problems in human life. There are real troubles, painful losses, and terrible things to be afraid of without shame. So why burden yourself with imaginary fears? All the imaginary fears mentioned above can fundamentally ruin lives. And when they are mixed all together, they can easily crush a person, lead to psychosis, and sometimes to suicide. There are more than enough examples of this. Thus, it makes sense to try and learn not to be afraid of what you shouldn’t be afraid of. Living without these oppressive fears is worth the effort. Life without these fears will be a completely different life. And whoever does not believe this should look back at his own experience and see the reality.
