"Fallout Shelter" is one of the rather addictive games I came across relatively recently. There are plenty of games with similar gameplay. The only difference is that the action takes place at different times and in different settings. Developers are trying hard to squeeze the maximum out of hype topics, because the game of this type is a zombie apocalypse, a medieval theme and the usual post-apocalyptic games. To the same, in principle, then, can be attributed and "Falaut Shelter. But the fact that this is, first and foremost, "Falout" plays a significant role here.
The player is asked to take on the role of the overseer of the asylum, and, I will not hide it, when I give certain commands, I unwittingly say them in the voice and intonation of the overseer of the shelter 13. Yes, this is such a self-reference to the first "Falout," I think it was in 1998. But not in its official translation, in Russia the official translation was from the studio "1C", but with an amateur translation of the studio "Fargus". Although, sometimes I rewatch gameplay videos in the original language and imagine how "Caretaker 13" sounds, but his voice to me is exactly the voice of the student who voiced the game for "Fargus". Actually, Fargus Studios was founded by three, I think, students who did translations while in a university dormitory.
Another Overseer voice for me is that of the voice actor who worked on the character from Falout 3. A colorful and ambiguous character.
In general, when I have time and when I have nothing to do, I run the game and run errands. From time to time I do some quests. In general, it's not a bad kind of recreation.
Although, in my opinion, the game does not touch some moral and ethical standards. Basically, it's a human breeding farm. It's enough to put two different-sex units in the "Living Room" and after a while the woman will get pregnant.
After some time she will give birth, the child will grow up, and so on. Roughly the same thing farmers do, with the only difference being that chickens aren't made to work in the power plant, cows and goats aren't sent to the kitchen (I mean, to work in the kitchen, not as food), piglets don't loot useful things on the wasteland. In the end, it all comes down to the fact that for the most efficient operation of the asylum, only women produce resources (including human resources), and men are exclusively busy guarding and searching for useful things on the wastelands. After all, it's not rational to hand out weapons to women, being pregnant they run away and don't defend the shelter from mutant and raider attacks. In general, a strange gameplay turns out.
However, it is worth discounting the fact that, firstly, there is a clause in the rules that says, "make sure they like each other. And secondly, this is post-apocalyptic, where everything must be aimed at the survival of the species and the norms of ethics and morality, at times, take a back seat.
In spite of this, m still like the game and I recommend this game. And before you make up your mind about the game, it's better to play it.
Sincerely, Arik Taranis.
