Colors of India
I would like to tell you about national colors of India. This country has a flag that combines four colors.
- The orange color symbolizes spirituality.
- The white one - peacefulness
- The third green color means nature and growth
- In the middle we can see a religion symbol - a dark blue wheel
There’s one more national color - red. It used on special events, celebrations, weddings. Red is a color of purity, that’s why Indian brides wear red dresses.
Temples are also decorated with red and deities are dressed in red too.
One more important color in India is white. It’s the color of purity and symbolizes death and rebirth, peace and knowledge. White is the color of the goddess of knowledge Saraswati, who is always dressed in a white sari and sits on a white lotus.
The green is a color of earth and nature. In India it often associated with Islam and it’s one of the favorite colors of Muslims.
One more color is blue. It is the skin color of one of the most favourite gods of India, Krishna. It protects Indians from troubles.
Brown for Indian’s is bad color. It symbolizes dying leaves and mourning.
The black color is bad too. Indians try not to wear children in black, dark clothes. But they think it’s ok to wear black wear with other colors. Anyway, it’s a symbol of evil and closeness of a person.
