With 1,000-person video calls, Telegram has developed a whole new social experience for you to dread.

We only got our hands on Telegram's latest beta a few days ago, which included screen sharing, video speed limits, and additional options for erasing your chat history. If you tried that version and found it to be a little buggy, you're in luck. Telegram 7.9 is currently rolling out to users, and it includes all of the beta features as well as a lot more. This version is jam-packed, with a strong emphasis on boosting the app's video capabilities. Both group video calls and video messages have been upgraded to "2.0" status, with the former adding up to 1,000 viewers in a call with 30 simultaneous broadcasts, and the latter adding up to 1,000 viewers in a call with 30 simultaneous broadcasts. Telegram has threatened to raise that limit until every person on the planet may join a single call, and we're beginning to believe it's a credible threat. Video messages are now recorded in a higher resolution with the option to press to enlarge. The second important inclusion here is screen sharin

The second important inclusion here is screen sharing, which works with your device's sound in 1-on-1 calls. In this week's beta, AP's Rita El Khoury had some trouble getting the function to work consistently, so perhaps all of the flaws have been ironed out for this release.

A few more items complete out the video-related content. Playback speed, which was originally observed in this week's beta, is now available, as are quick-copy timestamp links, which allow for quick and easy sharing of any timecode.

Of course, that's not the only thing that's new. Telegram's Android app now has some slick animation when sending messages, which was previously only available on the iOS client. It also features improved animations for better transitions between displays if you use a passcode. Password resets and two-factor authentication have both been improved, with the ability to restore your account even if you don't have a recovery email address. For good measure, there are now auto-delete settings for your chat threads and new animated emoji.

This is a big update, so make sure to check out Telegram's complete patch notes to discover everything that's new. Use the Play Store link below to download the most recent version of the app, or download the most recent APK from APK Mirror.
