American Drexler destroyer refueled from an aircraft carrier

The destroyer Drexler (DD-741) of the Allen M. Sumner class receives fuel from the USS Bon Homme Richard (CV-31) class Essex, the Caribbean Sea, February 19, 1945.

The Drexler destroyer on May 28, 1945, will be sunk by two kamikaze hits near the coast of Okinawa. The losses will amount to 158 sailors killed and 52 wounded.
