When pandemic has put people into new strict confinements in this precarious time, yoga has emerged as the top digital workout, connecting mind and body in absolute harmony. When talking about health, we often think of physical exercises although mental health is crucial and fitness targets broaden beyond the conception of workouts. With lockdowns across the globe and feelings of anxiety and uncertainty, mental health has become the priority of the population. People started looking for the holistic approach and mind-body exercises such as yoga that have created new dimensions among multiple age groups.

Unsurprisingly, it offers innovative fitness ways to help people improve their physical, mental, and emotional well-being from the comfort of their homes. While some lean on gym technology, yoga continues to dominate the current scenario by complementing the daily fitness routine of the gym freaks. Our way of living has changed, potentially, forever. Today, the whole world has recognized yoga as the sole effective tool to suppress stress and regain work-life balance. India’s soft power has become a strong stanchion of the mainstream culture. Apart from the physical yoga postures, another formal practice that can calm the mind and enhance our otherwise down spirit is meditation. Meditation has been practiced over chiliads by yogis and groups of people belonging to a different tradition. It is better understood under the umbrella of the term “mindfulness”. It includes the recitation of mantras or phrases, controlled breathing, focused attention, compassion, enlightened awareness, and the ability to live in the present.

Yoga blended with meditation is developed with a more focused approach to offer a helpful lifestyle to cope up with this constant change. Learning yoga and having a regular practice of meditation can benefit us by facing our fears and circumstances. This helps us to be in witness state and observe that like the chain of thoughts: appearing and disappearing in our mind, this unpredicted time in our lives too shall pass.
