A great boss can do more for your career than a degree or certification ever could.
One piece of career advice you’ll always hear me say, is to seek out incredible managers and leaders, and try to work for them as long as possible.
What do these “great managers” look like? Here are a few things to look for:
1 - Is this leader someone you’d like to be like one day?
2 - Does this leader give you opportunities to learn, and grow your skills?
3 - Does this leader challenge you do more, and think bigger?
4 - Does this leader understand your potential, and actively advocate for you?
There are more indicators, but if you can find someone that does these four things, you’re off to a great start!
Working for great people can literally change your life.
It can be the difference between working in a dead end job for 10 years, and finding the career that you truly love.
Don’t waste too much time working for terrible managers…understand when it’s time to cut the chord and move on.
