Learning foreign languages plays an important role in many people’s life. Some believe that it is easier to master Russian, whereas others find it simpler to learn English.
As for me, I agree with the second opinion. To begin with, the English language is globally used in many fields of human activity such as science, business and the entertainment industry. As a result, the world’s population has significant exposure to English, which makes language acquisition possible without any problems. Additionally, the demand for international communication has led to developing numerous teaching materials in English as well as to large-scale tutoring and establishing schools that offer courses to suit all levels.
However, there are people who think differently. They are convinced that it is not difficult to learn Russian because it has one standard form, while it is almost impossible to have a perfect command of English due to its numerous dialects.
I cannot share the opposing position. The modern Russian literary language is still affected by different dialects and the languages of national minorities, which often prevents people from understanding each other. As for the varieties of English, you do not have to be proficient in all of them. You can choose North American English that tends to be the most widespread form preferred by millions of people in the world.
In conclusion, I would like to say that, unlike Russian, English is used more extensively and has larger numbers of resources, which makes it an easier language to learn.
