Four-wheel drive is widely recognised as an advantageous setup for large high-performance vehicles. Over many years, Mercedes have made vast strides towards providing all-walkable configurations, and often used the Four-Wheel Drive technology to great effect. In this sense, the Mercedes G63 AMG is no exception. Skewing the wheels towards the front with four-window styling and an inferior acceleration-to-zero speed ratio compared to the Four Wheel Drives turbocharged models, the G63 is clearly a turtle-steer vehicle. At very high speeds, however, the AMG G63 enjoys superb handling. Despite this, the AV6 has distinct and unique qualities. Its high-tuned suspension controls the highest of available grip and dynamics; it fires so fast it effectively pulls the wheel into the ground. Weighing just over 2 tons, the accelerator-to impact ratio is 23, with 6.0 seconds to complete the race round. To this end, Mercedes produced the Ausf F for the AMC Wrangler range, which can be found nowhere more than in the Black Series.

The Germans also offer a version of the B255 GT4, the W126 GT3, as a roadster whenever possible, and the Concept Crossover Shooting Brake GT4 as a concept vehicle.
