Digital angel.
Mary loved her parents. But they used to quarrel a lot. Mom would come home exhausted after a long working day. She was very tired and everything irritated her at the time And Dad used to lose his temper very fast. They had nasty arguments and used to shout at each other. Mary felt deeply frustrated that people whom she loved so dearly used to hurt each other’s feelings. She would run into her room deeply sad and close her ears with earplugs. She calmed herself down by changing her profile picture in Facebook. She didn’t cry. She just prayed that her Mum and Dad learn one day how to get along with each other. Who can teach them?
That evening she put a cute kitten in her profile picture and for some strange reason smiled at her new image. The digital image smiled at her or it was just her imagination playing tricks with her. Mary went to bed and closed her eyes. She imagined that she was a small kitten playing in the garden with a ball. Suddenly she heard a strange voice:
- You have to call Alice at 4. You agreed to go to the theatre together,yesterday - said a strange voice
Mary opened her eyes and saw a big fat cat sitting in her favorite chair. The cat’s face was so familiar! Where did she see the face? Mary suddenly realized that the cat’s face was the exact copy of her profile picture image. But this was not a kitten. The cat was really big and at first Mary got scared. But then she saw the cat’s eyes. They were so kind and big. A radiant smile was illuminating the cat’s face.
- What are are doing here, dear cat? -asked Mary
- I am living in the Internet! You called me Kitty, don’t you remember? I am your digital identity, dear Mary. Yes, I am digital Mary. I know what you are worried about, my poor girl. You keep writing about your Mum and Dad and their quarrels to Alice and remember I am yourself in the digital world!
- How did you become real? Can I call you digital Kitty?
- Just call me Kitty. When I saw that you were worried so much about your parents I decided to help out. Digital world is big and I can really help you out!
- Oh, Kitty, - exclaimed Mary. She felt suddenly that she was talking with a kind and loyal friend, though the fact that her digital identity became real still scared her.
- Don’t cry, dear Mary. Your dad loves fishing and cycling, doesn’t’ he? And your mother is a fantastic cook and she adores nature. Don’t answer! Remember that Kitty is yourself living in a fascinating online world! Here, in the digital kingdom, I can realize all your dreams. And Mary’s dream came true. They went to Waterside Cornwall and they had a fantastic time there. Mary had never seen her parents so happy. A childish smile illuminated her dad’s face when he saw the beautiful nature! Actually, the place reminded Mom of a location she used to live with her parents a long time ago. Mary went fishing with her dad and they had a fantastic time. Mary had never talked so much and so merrily with her Dad. She felt that he loved her so much. Her Mom even danced with Dad at night and they later enjoyed a gorgeous meal outside. And the weather was nice. For some reason Marry was sure that everything will be in the apple pie order because Kitty, her digital identity, took care of all the arrangements. Kitty will always be her friend and she will never feel lonely!
