Hello! Yesterday, walking down the street, I saw a young couple. The inspiration for this poem came.
She woke up all of a sudden
With her heart pounding as fast
as it possibly could
Along with a very bad migraine
She took a few deep breaths
Let out a sigh and got out of bed
"The day hadn't yet begun but it has
to go on", she said to herself
What was the cause of all this you ask?
Where to begin she wondered
Was it because she doesn't know
where she fits anymore?
Or is it because of societal pressure
making her feel like a no one?
Is it because she thrives to be her
version of "successful"
Which isn't ideal at all
Or is it just because she hasn't yet
found her home?
You see her walk past you with her
head held high
With an intoxicating smile and confidence
one cannot avoid
To you, she shines bright
And in a flash, so many would hope
to live her perfect life
But only she knows
How much effort she puts in
to fit into her own life
How much time she spends to try
and look close to perfect
How much heartbreak she puts
away to deal with alone at night
It ain't easy
For you, for her, for anyone else
But to be kind is the easiest of all
It's like breathing in air
We don't have to be taught or told
Yet so often we aren't kind enough
To ourselves or others
So, why not start right away?
First with yourself
Only then can you with others.
