For water and dust resistance, the iPhone 11 Pro is IP68-certified. IP68 certification means that iPhone 11 Pro survives at up to 2 meters below water surface for approximately until 30 minutes.

This doesn’t mean that the telephone immediately takes less than 2 meters or more than 30 minutes to water. It means that you are safe in these areas – because of the physical structures and materials included in the iPhone 11 Pro they are within safety limits.

The CTV News report suggests that in early 2021 the iPhone 11 Pro spent one month under the lake’s frozen surface. In this period it is completely possible to survive the device – and quite likely – due to the relative lack of ship transport and to the extreme stillness of the water.
