In his words, "My take on Afrobeat in Nigeria, after crude oil, Afrobeat."
"I feel like Afrobeat is given us a lot of good omens, and a good image out there, because the music is growing. Also, music is a peaceful weapon and tool to pass a great impression to foreigners out there. I think Afrobeat is doing it," Oxlade added.
With over twenty million streams from his last EP, titled 'Oxygen' and the acceptance of his sound globally, Oxlade has grown a large fan base who call themselves "Oxygen". According to his fans, Oxlade has no bad songs.

According to him, his fans and listeners can decide which song is a hit to them. In his words, "Do I sound like being pressured to make hit songs? The songs I make, do they sound like hit songs? I make my own music oo, I don't even know where hit music is. I just make music and I put it out. Possible with the guidance of the right people around me. I don't think I have the mindset of pointing at a song to being a hit song."
The 24-year-old 'Away' crooner asserted that he would love to work with Drake. Drake having listened to his song and gave Oxlade a shout-out on his Instagram page, Olaitan became very optimistic and looking forward to working with the 'champagne pappy' himself.
Oxlade said, "One artist I would like to work with, I think Drake because he likes my music, he shouted me out on his Instagram story. There's a high chance that our music will sound nice."
