Bankuli Breaks Silence On His Relationship With D'Banj

Agboola Oluseun John, known also as Bankuli has revealed that his relationship with D'Banj is good and at the moment, they are in a better place.

Bankuli said, "my relationship with D'Banj is good. I believe we have the mouth, the tongue, and the teeth. And, of course, they always co-exist, and sometimes there's always friction between the tongue and the teeth. We are very good. We spoke a few days ago. I was in Abuja and I gave him a call and he called back after which we speak for few minutes.

Speaking about his new single titled 'Foreign', Bankuli says the song has been doing great numbers and has been getting good airplay in and out of the country. He added that he's been touring the country to promote his new song.

In the words of the 'Foreign' crooner, "So far, so good, I've been almost around everywhere in the country, promoting, talking about the song, talking about the note, talking about the intention of the song, and the song is doing great, getting good airplay, on tv station across Nigeria, even across the world."

He went on to speak about why record labels and artists keep having issues saying proper education is. Key to having a healthy, working relationship.

He says, "Record label and artists brouhaha has always been there, but I believe education is one of the major problems. When the record labels do not fully understand their responsibilities to the artists.

Also, on the part of the artist, they are supposed to have an understanding of what they are getting into. So, from the two sides of a coin, education is very key.

So, when the record label defaults in that respect, it will always result in artists not having confidence in the label. On the part of the artist, you have to continue to strive for excellence."

Bankuli also revealed to CityBuzz that he is working on an EP, a documentary he titled "Chronicles of Afrobeat" to showcase what African artists are doing and earn global respect. In his words, "Well, I'm working on multiple projects, working towards putting out an EP project, and of course I've released 'Gbemiro', Foreign and other songs in the project will be released in due time."

I am also working on a documentary called Chronicles of Afrobeat. The idea behind it [Chronicles of Afrobeat] is to use our little shining light, to bring everybody within the industry together.

People that have put in their sweat and blood to make a lot happen behind the scenes and even on the main stage as well, for artists to talk about things that can make the industry move forward.

Also, to unify people in Diaspora, ability to have more freedom, talk about where they are from, and showcase whatever talent they have out here as well. It also aims at unifying culture, to accept Africans more in the Diaspora."
