Nigerian music producer and songwriter, Otaniyen-uwa Daniel, known popularly as Killertunes spoke about the recent rise in demand for the Afrobeat genre in the music industry, stating that Afrobeat is the new best thing everyone wants to listen to and be affiliated to.

He said,

"Afrobeat is the new best thing internationally music-wise. Outside reggae, Latin music, right now, Afrobeat is that thing that everybody wants to hear."

When asked on his take about the scarcity of female producers in the Nigerian music industry, Killertunes said,

"I feel like the female producers are still inside, like trying to learn, unlike the guys. While Guys would have been out there within two years, girls will still be schooling.

He further expressed his opinion on the changes which have occurred in the music industry, compared to the days of old, stating that being that so a time of old was the analog age, things are more developed in this digital age. He also added that with the obvious changes in the music industry, the future would most certainly be better.

In his words,

"This is a digital age. Before now, everything was analog, if you want to make music, for instance, there has to be a Trumpeter, a Guitarist, things have changed. Personally, I can do everything, be on the drum set, play the guitar, keyboard, and so on. Things have changed, this is a digital age, jet age in which more money, more recognition, people are getting royalties, earnings from publications. The future holds more, more for producers in Nigeria."

Killertunes also revealed what project he is currently working on. He said,

"I have a song with Shasha. I have Mr. Eazi, Oxlade on my upcoming projects."

Furthermore, he said that unlike other units of the creative and entertainment industry, producers show more support for each other. While speaking on producers featuring each other on a project, he said, "For producers, I think there's love."
