his rarely-silent wife

-You are quiet today,- said my husband at dinner.

Quiet? Really?

I was happy when I got home, I’m always happy when I get home.

While I was fixing the dinner, Daniel lit a fire in the fireplace. He talked about the news and how his day had gone.

We were having dinner, and I could feel my face turning pink. The skin began to breathe after wearing the mask for a whole day.

At the same time, the energy was draining away, and the fatigue was slowly accumulating.

I didn’t feel like talking.

It seemed that I had said my 2 thousand words that every normal Russian woman should say in a day ( At least, Russian women think that this is normal). I said them there, at work.

My day at work went well. Checking books in and out, placing folds on books, small American talks about the weather and vaccines. Everything was as usual.

Except for probably too much talking. I had to show and tell people how to turn on the Wi-Fi on their phones, send emails from their phones and email boxes, explain to a foreigner, like me, how the library system works in our area.

It was definitely a good day. My colleague and I helped many of our patrons today.

It wasn't until dinner, when I felt my face turning pink, that I realized how tired I was.

It's time for tea and a quiet evening. Tomorrow will be another day and another 2 thousand words.
