World War 2 photo: Three Heroes of the Soviet Union from the 70 Guards Rifle Division.
In the center – Lieutenant Ivan Vasilyevich Mishchenko. He was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for the crossing and retention of the bridgehead on the Pripyat River in 1943.
On the back of the photo there is an inscription:
These are my machine-gunners and with them I’m in the middle. September 1943.
