Nevsky prospect- is the Main Street of Saint Petersburg, stretching for 4.5 kilometres. Nevsky Avenue is overlooked by facades of 240 graceful buildings. Many of the most beautiful buildings in St. Petersburg are located on Nevsky Avenue .The street contains stimulating atmosphere of impressive buildings and magnificent views.
Nevsky Prospekt has two sides: "sunny" and "shadow" side. The one on which the rays fall, places buildings with even numbers, and the other - with odd numbers. During the blockade, it was the sunny side that was considered the most dangerous. In 1943, on this side, the words “Citizens! During shelling, this side of the street is the most dangerous ”- a memorial plaque with such an inscription is here to this day.
During city holidays, the avenue turns into one red-letter day with music, dancing and parades. On Nevsky Prospect you can feel the spirit of the city of Petra and observe the modern life of the metropolis.
In winter, Nevsky becomes the most magical New Year's place.Christmas trees, garlands and Christmas installations appear on the avenue.Therefore, if you want to feel the atmosphere of the approaching New Year, you have to walk along the avenue!
