Popular English proverb says "To cultivate kindness is a valuable part of the business of life". Many people all over the world dedicate their free time doing volunteering. Then why don't you join them?
There's a wide range of volunteering programmes of different aspects: from environmental to educative or communitive ones. What you have to do to choose the most suitable option is to ask yourself «What am I interested in?» Here are some of the programmes for you to consider.
1. Living with Orphaned Rhinos at Care for wild. The main task is to take care of African rhinoceros cubs and other animals, whose parents were killed by poachers. Accommodation and meals are included. The organization pays for all the flights.
2. Help Exchange: Jenny and David. The project takes place in France in the Loire Valley where the ancient castle has to be restored. Its owners look for volunteers who will not only restore the walls, but also do the gardening and maintain the pool. The main Jenny and David's requirement for volunteers is English knowledge; your level must be not less than B1.
3. Reef conservation International. The organization takes an active role in protecting and conserving oceans, so it looks for 16+ volunteers who will be discovering different ways of helping coral reefs and marine animals. It will certainly expand your knowledge of wild creatures' nature. The programme involves diving with underwater inhabitants, from sea turtles to sharks; removing trash and plastic from islands of the Balize Barrier Reef.
4. Childcare companion. If have enough patience, erudition and leadership, you can try yourself in teaching Balinese 4-9 year-olds in order to prepare them for school. Their English skills can easily be improved by playing games which volunteers have to make up.
