A guide to using social media responsibly

People talk a lot about the problem of personal data security in social networks, but this topic is still relevant. To be completely safe on the Internet means to completely abandon it, but this is not possible for a modern person. Any action on the Internet is dangerous for the user. This can lead to blackmail, robbery, loss of important data.

The more personal information you post on social networks, the easier it is for a scammer to use this information against you.

These are the rules for the responsible using of social media:

1. Pay attention to who you add as friends

Adding you as a friend gives scammers access to information that you have hidden from view by strangers. It also gives you the option to send you messages with advertisements or other offers.

2. Don't argue in the comments

Everyone has their own opinion. Don't waste time and nerves arguing.

3. Use complex passwords

Using a simple password can lead to an account being hacked.

4. Delete accounts you don't use

There is your personal information that you have not deleted. If you no longer use such accounts, then delete them. No need to leave your information in the public domain.

5. Be careful with what you post

Even if you keep your posts private, it doesn't guarantee that other people won't be able to see them.

Obviously, this will not protect you for 100% from “theft” of your information, but at least it will reduce the risk.
