Hi guys! My father’s family is from Kirghizia. It was one of the republics of Soviet Union. The capital of Kyrgyzstan is Bishkek.
From old times people of this country lived in mountains. And most of them had nomadic way of life.
The weather is harsh in mountains. So the climate and weather affected for traditional clothes of Kirghizian people.
The most popular materials for clothes were leather, felt, furs, animal skins, wool fabric. The outerwear was looking like a swing bathrobe. Usually it was very bright. Under such robe men wore baggy trousers and long shirts.
Holiday trousers were made from orange chamois leather. They were made with different ornaments and patterns.
One of the most important clothing items was a belt. The simplest belts were made of fabric.
But rich people had belts from leather with big buckle. And sometimes belts were made from shawls with silver or gold patterns.
In winter people wore fur hats. And in summer they still wear tyubeteykas from felt. I consider traditional clothes of Kyrgyzstan is very nice. Thank you 😊
