Как образовать другую часть речи от однокоренного слова?

Вот подборка не самых очевидных глаголов, которые соответствуют привычным существительным и прилагательным.

alternative → ALTER – изменить(ся)

Nothing can alter the fact that I was here first and the slippers are mine.

alternative → ALTERNATE – чередовать(ся)

Black and white stripes alternate on a zebra’s back and in life.

angry → ANGER – сердить

How can you be angered by such an innocent remark?

apparent → APPEAR – казаться (формальнее, чем SEEM)

available → AVAIL (yourself of) – воспользоваться

awesome/awful → AWE – наполнять благоговением/трепетом

evolution → EVOLVE – эволюционировать

excellent → EXCEL – быть успешным
