I have talked about the Donskoy Aluminum construction company more than once. And he always wrote about this team and its director only in conjunction with the words: the best, highly professional, hardworking. And they keep giving it a reason.
We always respect the work that requires not only competent engineering solutions, but also perseverance and self-confidence.
The construction of a port fire-fighting conduit on the Don River can be divided into three stages:
1. Construction of working pits for MNBSH-600 up to 10 meters deep (judging by the photo).
2. Trenchless laying of two D630 pipes in accordance with the design slope into the water line of the Don River.
3. Trenchless laying of pipes D530mm for water intake from the Don River at a considerable depth from the water surface.
The working pit was made using sheet piling.
Pilot drilling with a length of 40 meters under the pipe D630mm was successful in accordance with the design slope. From the unusual fact that the pilot rods had to be unscrewed on a longboat floating in the river.
The punching of two steel pipes D630mm with simultaneous extraction of soil by augers passed without incident.
But the most interesting thing began during the construction of the D530mm pipe, which, in accordance with the project, was laid along the bottom of the river. Pilot drilling went well. From non-standard, this is what a diver unscrewed the pilot's head. And subsequently, the dismantling of all pilot rods was carried out under water. Video attached:

But before this stage of work, a number of extraordinary events occurred.
The non-standard situation that the builders faced is most eloquently conveyed by the photos and videos that we received from our Customer.
But, looking ahead, I can say that the work was done successfully, despite all the difficulties and trials. The object was handed over to the Customer.

In the photo there is a cone (expander), which with one side will be fixed on the pilot rod, and a pipe D530mm will be welded to its opposite side.
