These days, many people spend a lot of time on the Internet, whether it is for work, gathering information, social interaction, or entertainment. The Internet has made it possible for us to communicate with people all over the world. It has created new job and business opportunities and democratized the media. What is more, the Internet has become a major source of leisure. With the advent of the Internet, people's lives have become much easier, considering the wealth of available information and the number of tasks that can be performed online. Computer users can access news, documents, images, sounds, weather and sports reports, make friends, book tickets, publish their ideas and information to a large audience, and purchase different things online. Owing to the Internet millions of people worldwide have easy, instant access to a vast and diverse amount of up-to-date information. Young people use the Internet to download music, movies, video games and other things for their enjoyment and relaxation. Overall, the Internet can improve our lives in many ways, but it has a lot of disadvantages as well. As the number of websites increases, the amount of time you spend browsing for information will increase, too. Another disadvantage is receiving information that is unreliable, falsified or exaggerated. People cannot always trust what they read on the web. Providing personal information online when shopping or banking can result in hackers gaining access to private data that can be used to steal your funds. What is more, going online often means subjecting your computer to viruses that can crash your system.
