As I mentioned it previously, I had started watching and reading everything in English, the one thing which helps me to do it is Netflix.
I subscribed to it last Sunday, but I'm already in love with it. You can watch almost any film or TV show in English with English subtitles (if you need them) or Russian subs (rarely).
There is my top of favorites on Netflix:
1. The Umbrella Academy. It was obvious, because everybody likes it, and I'm not an exception. This is a marvelous story about a “superheroes family”, whose lives went in different ways, but one big problem has gathered them again. NO SPOILERS, SORRY. I used to think that I would love Robert Sheehan, but, I was wrong. I'm keen on Aidan Gallagher, especially after watching his YouTube channel, but he is only 16. Is it love or just a maternal instinct? Hm… I don't know, but this TV show is definitely worth watching!
2. The Kissing Booth. I would say that it is not the most fantastic movie, I've ever watched. It is just a usual romantic comedy for teenagers. I used to like these movies before my psychology therapy, because I was always envy to a main character, who gets the first prize and the best boyfriend. However, now I'm older and smarter, and can see all their problems... honestly none of these characters is clever, and all of them rely on the magic coincidence, which finally always helps them to win. Anyway, I liked the 1st part and you can also watch it for relaxing your brain.
3. The Platform. My interests are really strange, usually I watch cartoons and family movies, but sometimes I go to the dark side and chose a thriller (usually the European's, they are really strange in humor), it is a really cruel movie, obviously not for children and it leaves a dozen of question after watching. Nevertheless, I liked it and in general and especially the ending, because it is really unpredictable.
4. Sugar Rush. I'm fond of culinary shows, and this one won my heart for being so sweet (in all meanings), positive and interesting, where time is the most important ingredient. In Russia, we have something the same, called “Konditer”, but it is full of mess and anger, as almost every TV show in Russia. Thus, if you like baking or watching other people doing it, you'll love this show.
5. Black Mirror. I think that everyone has heard at least something about it, because we even have a Russian version (personally I didn't like it). This is a series of movies about a modern world and future global problems.
I'm sure that there are a lot of cool TV shows and movies coming to this list, but I didn't have enough time to watch everything, because I'm subscribed to it only for a few days.
Do you have a subscription to Netflix? What's your favorite show or movie?
