In 1937, the American Automobile Association was formed in New York City, with its headquarters in Manhattan and a permanent staff of 150. In addition to the most important drivers in the country, the AAA also includes some of the most prominent sportscasters and top technicians in the entire country

Much like the League, the AAA has rules of conduct and regulations for each of its divisions. Each division in the AAA is responsible for its own area of its sport, and these rules and regulations are meant to provide just adequate control over the sport. The American Automobile Association (AAA) split its rulemaking authority into three main departments, divisions, and clubs.
