Teoman Yakupoğlu was born in Istanbul on November 20, 1967. He studied at Ataköy High School and later studied sociology at Boğaziçi University. Teoman began his music career in 1986 by establishing the band "Mirage" and becoming a vocalist. After a while, the band disbanded and later appeared in bands such as Blue Beard, Indians, Black, Rose and Light reflection, and then pursued his music career with solo work.
In 1996, Teoman participated in the Roxy Music Competition, singing "Neither Bread Nor Water" (music: Barlas, lyrics: Barlas – Teoman), won the Best Composition Award and the song 'Roads' was awarded the Best Lyrics Award. In 1996, the artist released his debut album under the name "Teoman", and later released remix albums, respectively, "O", "Seventeen", "Gönülçelen", "Teoman 2003 -Red album-", "My best story", "Hotel in colorful dreams", "Human states".
The successful artist worked with procekts film-music company, which he founded, as a producer and record label owner with other bands, and is still working on this work.
Teoman also shoots his own clips as a director within the company.
In addition to his music career, Teoman also worked in the field of cinema. He appeared in the films "Mummy Escape -2002-" and "Romantic -2007-". In 2005, he wrote, produced, directed and starred in the screenplay, music for the film "Balancing and Maneuvering".
Teoman also wrote columns in some newspapers and magazines and continues to write. On March 28, 2010, he carried out a special program and supported alternative media as part of the Radio Festival of Open Radio's Listener Support Project.
In 2000, Teoman Golden Butterfly was awarded the best pop artist award. Many of the songs on Teoman's albums, which are considered one of the best songwriters in Turkey, have written lyrics and music.
Teoman, one of turkey's most original artists, "Best Singer", "Best Songwriter", "Best Album", "Artist of the Year"… has received numerous awards in such categories.
